This was the second time I visited Sushi Joe. You can eat different kinds of raw fish there, not just salmon. The fish is so fresh and of high quality. The sake steamed scallop is rarely found in London and definitely gives a delight. The matcha ice cream with red bean let you thinking of authentic Japanese taste. Moreover, if you want to have a gathering with crowds of your friends, there is a large room catering your needs.

This was like live food theatre and you get to eat the food! The chef made everything fresh in front of us with the utmost care and attention. Hygiene was very important which in this heat is very important. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. The prices very reasonable and good portion sizes. I can’t wait to revisit but suggest you reserve as the restaurant is cosy.

After making the 1.5-hour drive to Sushi Joe in Cheam for the second time, I can confidently say it was absolutely worth it. This hidden gem offers an authentic Japanese sushi bar experience, where the focus is not just on the food but also on the artistry and precision behind it. Watching Chef Joe work his magic—his masterful knife skills and delicate sushi-making technique—is a true pleasure. Every dish is plated with meticulous attention to detail, making the presentation a solid 10/10. One of the standout aspects of Sushi Joe is its incredibly diverse menu. From premium sashimi and expertly crafted nigiri to comforting bowls of ramen, crispy tempura, stir-fried noodles, and even desserts, the selection is impressive. The nigiri menu is one of the most extensive I’ve come across in the UK, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality seafood that showcases the chef’s dedication to authenticity. Beyond sushi, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-executed the hot dishes were. The tempura was light and crispy, the ox tongue was beautifully tender, and the grilled chicken wings were juicy and packed with flavour—each dish seasoned just right to enhance its natural taste. Adding to the experience is the warm and attentive service. The staff are not only friendly but also knowledgeable, making thoughtful recommendations and ensuring a smooth dining experience. Despite the long drive, Sushi Joe has once again exceeded my expectations, proving that great food is always worth the journey. If you’re looking for top-tier sushi and Japanese cuisine in the UK, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended! :)

My family and I must give this restaurant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and leave our comments here! After visiting many Japanese restaurants across the UK, this is where we finally tasted truly authentic flavours—just like those we experienced in Japan ????????. Complimentary Dishes On the day of our visit, the restaurant served every customer a miso soup with seaweed along with three appetisers: • Wakame Seaweed Salad • Fried Savoury Balls • Crab Stick Salad ???? Drinks Ordered • Green Tea • Japanese Marble Soda • Bubble Tea ???? Main Dishes Ordered • Sushi Boat • Tuna Sushi (2 pieces) • Salmon Sushi (2 pieces) • Ebi Shrimp Sushi (2 pieces) • Scallop Sushi (2 pieces) • Flying Fish Roe Sushi (4 pieces) • Soft Shell Crab Roll (8 pieces) ???? Desserts Ordered • sesame ice cream • green tea ice cream • sea urchin ice cream Let me share my thoughts after tasting such authentic flavours! The Sashimi Boat 6 different types of sashimi including tuna, salmon, scallops, surf clam and Hamachi. Every piece of sashimi was incredibly fresh, with no hint of freezer taste. I particularly loved the tuna and salmon belly, which simply melted in my mouth . The scallops were sweet and delicate, while the surf clam had a wonderfully bouncy texture . ???? Soft Shell Crab Roll The slightly warm sushi rice paired perfectly with the freshly fried soft-shell crab , which remained crispy without being overly hot. Absolutely delicious! ???? Flying Fish Roe Sushi This comes as a set of two pieces, generously topped with Tobiko ????. There was so much roe that I had to scoop some off with a teaspoon before enjoying the sushi itself—I absolutely loved it! Special Mention: The Soy Sauce A standout feature was the soy sauce, uniquely crafted by Master Chef Joe himself. When brushed over the food, it enhanced the umami flavours beautifully . Sea Urchin ice cream It was our first time trying sea urchin ice cream—it starts off sweet but quickly turns salty, making for a unique and interesting experience! Total Bill: £106 That’s £35 per person, which is incredibly reasonable considering the quality of the food. In London’s central zones, a meal of this standard could easily cost double or even triple the price! Finding such authentic Japanese cuisine ???????? in the UK is a rare delight—my family and I will definitely be returning!
